1st SAL Anything with Wheels Funraiser

 

SAL Squadron 372 is holding a fun run on Sunday September 29th, 2024. Registration begins at 9:30am at Monkey's Uncle in Mandarin. This is open to all types of vehicles as long as they are in safe operating condition. Cost is $20/driver which gets them a SAL Raffle Ticket shown below and entered into the Poker Chip Drawing. All passengers the cost is only $10/passenger for participation in the Poker Chip Drawing. Passengers may upgrade to $20 to also get entered into the SAL Raffle Ticket. In the event all the October 31, 2024 Raffle Tickets are distributed, we will begin distributing the January 31st, 2025 Raffle Tickets for registration. There will be a bottle raffle at the three stops, end of the ride, and basket raffles at the end.

 

The stops are:

Monkey's Uncle Mandarin - Registration

Island Wing Company (Southside) - Lunch on your own

Surf's Bar and Grill (Fernandina Beach) - 2nd lunch choice if group is large

Cruzin Eddie's (Yulee)

Monkey's Uncle Mandarin - Raffles and poker chip drawing

 

You must stop at all locations to draw your poker chips and have the tracking sheet initialed. In the event of a tie, there will be a tie breaker. Poker Chip Raffle Prize will be $100.

Net proceeds benefit the Post 372 Building Fund, Jax Chapter of the NFL Alumni Youth Football and Cheerleader Camp, and other SAL 372 Programs.

 

SAL 372 FUNDRAISING RAFFLE

Post 372's SAL is conducting a quarterly raffle with a grand prize of $1000 and two smaller prizes of $100 each. The drawing date is listed on the flyer below and tickets. Here are the details:

1. Number is determined by the Florida Lottery's Pick 3 Evening Drawing (Doesn't include the Fireball) on the drawing date.
2. The exact match to the Pick 3 receives $1000.
3. One number below the Pick 3 receives $100.
4. One number above the Pick 3 receives $100.
5. Tickets are $20 each.
6. There are only 100 tickets available for each drawing.
7. You get 10 random 3-digit numbers per ticket.
8. There are 30 chances to win the 3 prizes on each ticket.
9. In the event all tickets are not sold causing a prize not to be won, that prize will be rolled into the next raffle. (Example: The $1000 grand prize becomes $2000 the next raffle. The one number below becomes $200 and the one number above becomes $200).
10. All proceeds benefit the Post 372 SAL Programs.
11. To get your tickets, purchase from a Post 372 SAL Member or mail a check made out to Post 372 SAL, 11250-15 Old St Augustine Road PMB-138, Jacksonville, FL 32257 and your ticket(s) will be mailed to you.
12. Checks will be mailed to you once the winners are determined.

Do you have a son or grandson that should be part of the Legion Family?

​

How about a veteran friend that doesn’t meet Legion eligibility based upon his dates of service?

 

With proof of your father's or grandfather's military service you can join for on $35.00/year. If you are using either one of them as criteria to join the SAL and they are living, they must also be a member of the American Legion. We have many of our SAL members enroll their fathers for the Legion.

Legionnaires!! You are also eligible and S.A.L. dues for dual-members (Legionnaire and SAL) are only $11.00/year.

 

Our S.A.L. squadron wants YOU!

 

S.A.L. membership is open to sons and grandsons of Legionnaires, or sons and grandsons deceased veterans who served during one of the following Legion eligible periods:

If you have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces from April 6, 1917 - Nov. 11, 1918 (WWI) or from December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving – you are eligible for membership in The American Legion!

*Because eligibility dates remain open, all active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to join The American Legion at this time, until the date of the end of hostilities as determined by the government of the United States.

**US. Merchant Marine eligible only from December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946 (WWII).

  • Dec. 7, 1941 - Current 

  • April 6, 1917 - Nov. 11, 1918

  • Veteran must have served at least one (1) day of active duty during one of the above time periods.

    S.A.L. members are an important part of The American Legion family. The Sons of the American Legion:

  • Brings in younger members to assist with Legion activities;

  • Assists in fostering a sense of obligation and responsibility to community and country in boys and young men;

  • Helps make lighter work of Legion tasks and activities;

  • Helps honor deceased veterans that may not have had the opportunity to be Legion members; and

  • Helps ensure future legion membership growth.

    Squadron 372 meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at the YMCA (2nd Floor Meeting Room) at 7:00pm.
